RaceMUD

0.1.3 build 144

Introduction to RaceMUD

Racemud was created to fill a void in the MUD genre cloud. There are hundreds of MUDs for a midieval hack and slash, there are dozens of MUDs with a modern theme, yet there are none that fulfill the desire for those of us who are interested in automotive racing. With that in mind, RaceMUD was designed from the ground up to be a modern MUD implementation built upon auto racing. To learn how to play RaceMUD, check out Playing RaceMUD.

Getting Started

Compiling your RaceMUD server

In most cases, you can just type make, and RaceMUD will happily compile away.

Configuring your RaceMUD server

In this current release, all configuration is performed in the "defines.h" file. This is where you would edit such things as server name, server port, userlimit, etc. In future releases, these will be moved to an external configuration file.

Running your RaceMUD server

As with any early beta software, RaceMUD is likely to be unstable. If you don't have the time or do not wish to monitor your server constantly, it is probably wise to put it in a shell script loop, to restart when it is to crash.

Administering your RaceMUD server

Here's where we'll put info about teh RACEMUDz0rs.
